Frequently asked questions
Who is eligible for an award?
All Kelly Education and Teachers On Call employees who are in good standing are eligible. This includes:
- Substitute teachers
- Paraeducators, classroom aides, teacher assistants
- In-person or virtual tutors
For more information, see Contest Rules.
Who can submit a nomination?
All Kelly Education and Teachers On Call school districts or tutor partners can nominate an outstanding educator or tutor. This includes administrators, principals, teachers, any school district faculty, or tutor managers of virtual partners.
Kelly Education employees are not eligible to self-nominate and must be nominated by someone at the district.
Can I nominate more than one person?
Yes! You may nominate as many deserving educators as you would like. However, please do not submit multiple nominations for the same person. Multiple submissions for the same person do not increase chances of winning.
Will my nominee(s) know they have been nominated?
We would love to let our amazing educators know they have been nominated!
If you provide an email address for your nominee when submitting the form on this page, they will receive an email from Kelly Education on or near April 2, 2025, congratulating them on their nomination.
How can I make my nomination stand out?
First, make sure you fulfill the minimum requirements for submitting a nomination: provide all required information; include at least two letters of recommendation (preferably on district letterhead, signed with name, title, and contact information); and include a brief video (no more than two minutes long).
Second, make sure your recommendation letters are thoughtful, and your video clearly articulates how your nominee stands out from other educators you may have had at your school or district. Think about providing solid examples for things such as:
- Exceeds their daily professional responsibilities.
- Demonstrates outstanding teaching methods that result in significant student progress.
- Tailors teaching approaches to meet the needs of students.
- Employs creative techniques to keep students engaged and motivated.
- Boosts students' self-confidence and encourages a positive attitude towards learning.
- Goes above and beyond to support students' academic and personal growth.
- Demonstrates patience and perseverance when working with students.
- Maintains a positive and enthusiastic demeanor that encourages a love of learning.
- Follows lessons plans, leaves good notes, and deploys strong classroom management techniques.
Multiple letters of recommendation from a school faculty, stating unique and specific examples, will help make your educator stand out.
What are some tips for creating or compressing my video?
Videos will be evaluated based on convincing reasons the nominee deserves to win the Educator of the Year award. Be sure to introduce those who are speaking in the video (name/title/school) for credibility. Please do not include students in your video.
Keep your points concise, so you do not exceed the maximum two minute length and file size not to exceed 100MB.

Videos will be accepted in any style or format. However, be aware that winners will be selected based on their outstanding accomplishments and recommendations, not the creativity of the video.

When will winners be announced?
The four winners, and their respective schools, will be notified on or about April 18.
Winners will also be publicly announced during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-10, 2025.
How do I upload more than two letters of recommendation?
While only two recommendation letters are required to qualify for nomination, additional recommendation letters will be accepted and reviewed. You may upload a third (or more) recommendation letters within the form on this page where it says "Upload additional recommendation letters". It is important to note that you must select all additional files from your computer and upload them at the same time. Otherwise, only your last file chosen will upload.
Please make sure all letters of recommendation are on school/district letterhead, and include the signature and title of the person submitting the letter.

For questions regarding the nomination process, or if you are having technical issues with submitting your nomination, please email EducationAwards@kellyservices.com with a detailed explanation of the trouble you are experiencing. See the FAQ about compressing videos if you need support to get the file under 100MB. You can expect a reply within 24 hours.
